During last week’s Homecoming festivities, St. Edward’s University was honored to host two bishops on campus, the Most Reverend Joe S. Vasquez, D.D., S.T.L, Bishop of the Diocese of Austin and the Most Reverend Wm. Michael Mulvey, D.D., STL, Bishop of the Diocese of Corpus Christi.

Bishop Vásquez presided over Sunday’s Homecoming Mass and gave the Blessing of Parents, a special Homecoming Mass tradition. After Mass, the St. Edward’s University community and its guests were invited to greet Bishop Vásquez and take a special keepsake photo with him.

Bishop Mulvey was honored as a Distinguished Alumni Award recipient at Friday night’s Welcome Dinner and Alumni Awards Ceremony. On Saturday Bishop Mulvey performed the dedication blessing as the St. Edward’s Soccer Field was named the Lewis-Chen Family Field in recognition of the Lewis-Chen family’s many contributions to the university. Bishop Mulvey also served as a concelebrant for Sunday’s Homecoming Mass.
