St. Edward's University Welcomes Students to Campus: Move In Aug. 26

St. Edward's University will welcome students to campus on Friday, Aug. 26, as they move into the university’s residence halls from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If students need help with their belongings, they don’t have to look very far. Student-athletes and members of student organizations will be available between 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. to help freshmen settle in to their new home on campus.

Plan on attending Welcome Days, which is packed with activities to help new undergraduate students experience campus life, meet faculty and staff members, and feel at home. Cheer on the St. Edward’s soccer teams and attend the Welcome Block Party with new friends. The faculty and staff members at St. Edward’s are ready for you. Students and parents can take a break from moving in and enjoy time with family, friends and members of the St. Edward's community while eating Texas barbecue at the Welcome BBQ at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, on the Main Building Lawn.

During Welcome Days, make time for a very special St. Edward’s tradition — the Medallion Ceremony. President George E. Martin will be joined by faculty and staff members as he inducts freshmen into the academic community. During the ceremony, freshmen will receive a university medallion and gain a greater understanding of the university’s Holy Cross tradition. After the ceremony, students will gather with their academic schools to become familiar with the program and meet the dean and professors.

The Medallion Ceremony will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, at the Recreation and Convocation Center. While students attend the Academic School Receptions from 3-4 p.m., parents and family members are invited to attend the Family Reception in the RCC Atrium.

Need help navigating the campus? Please feel free to ask a member of the St. Edward’s community or consult a directional kiosk near the Bookstore.
