St. Edward's University Designated as a Top Producer of U.S. Fulbright Students
For 2011–2012, St. Edward’s University is designated as a top producer of U.S. Fulbright students. St. Edward’s is tied for fourth among master’s granting institutions in the nation.
Since 2004, 13 Fulbrights — a highly selective scholarship sponsored by the U.S. Department of State — have been awarded to St. Edward’s University students to study in the following countries: Brazil, Costa Rica, Germany, Mongolia, Thailand and Turkey. These awards support the university’s commitment to prepare students for the opportunities and challenges of today’s interconnected world.
Of this year's 21 Fulbright applicants from St. Edward’s University, 10 students and recent alumni are finalists (up from 6 finalists and 13 applicants last year). Once students reach the finalist stage, they have an approximately 50 percent chance of attaining a Fulbright award. Stay tuned as announcements will be made between March and May for this group of students.
