Spring 2013 President's Meeting Recap
Dr. George E. Martin updated the university community on several important topics during the Spring President’s Meeting held on Tuesday, Feb. 26 in Mabee Ballroom. He reported on new academic accomplishments, enrollment, fundraising, new academic programs and recognized members of the staff and faculty who have served the university for 25 years and 35 years.
Dr. Martin spoke about the incredible generosity of Bill and Pat Munday, whose recent $20 million gift will go straight into the endowment towards new scholarships. An additional 150 Munday Scholars per year will be created as a result of this incredible gift.
The university has been recognized recently for its achievements including being named the top producer of Fulbright Students among masters-granting institutions, and for receiving a prestigious Keck Foundation grant for use by the School of Natural Sciences to build a living database at Wild Basin.
The university will welcome several new staff and faculty members this year, who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the university. They include Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mary Boyd, PhD, Interim Dean of University Programs, Cory Lock, PhD., and Kozmetsky Center Director, Sharyl Cross, PhD.
