Jessica Gentry – Residence Director, East Hall
Hello, all. My name is Jessica Gentry (a.k.a. Jess). I am your East Hall Residence Director. This is my first year in East, and my first year at St. Edward’s. I’m very excited to be here in the fabulous city of Austin, but my home state of Tennessee is still very dear to my heart. I worked in residence halls for four years while attending The University of Tennessee where I earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. (I’m happy to proofread papers!) I also earned my master’s degree there in Information Science. I actually put my degree into practice for a couple of years as an elementary school librarian. I was a bit too rowdy for the library though, so I decided to return to my first love – residence life! Nonetheless, I still have a fondness for libraries and children’s books so let me know if you ever want to have story time! When I’m not in my office you might catch me doing a number of random things. I am an intense sports fan. I like them all, but especially football and softball. I also enjoy reading a good book, running around the track, catching a good movie, and seeking out new crafty endeavors. At the moment I’m really into sewing and knitting, but my creative focus changes on a routine basis. I am super excited about our year together in East. I have no doubt it will be a year filled with enjoyable times and great laughs. Feel free to stop by my office to just say hi or ask any questions that you may have. I look forward to meeting you all and getting to know the amazing residents of East Hall!
Jardin Telling
Hello hello! My name is Jardin Telling, and I'm going to be a sophomore this coming year, majoring in Global Studies (International Relations). This is my first year on staff, and I'm totally looking forward to working with you ladies. If you need anything, my room is at the end of the hall on 1st floor South, so feel free to walk right in whenever; my door tends to stay open a lot. I'm a coffee addict, so that's typically the first thing on my mind in the morning. I work part time as well at Amy's Ice Cream, right across the street, so if you don't see me on campus I'm probably over there! I love going to shows (music is a huge part of my life) and hearing live music. I've been playing guitar for the past 6 years, so if any of you guys play an instrument, I'd be more than happy to jam out together. I love skittles, basset hounds, and my favorite color is green. I'm so pumped for this year and I can't wait to get to know you ladies as well. Cheers to a fabulous year!
Kyralyssa Hauger
Hello, my name is Kyralyssa Hauger and I am the RA for 2nd floor South side. Last year I was a first year RA in East and loved it. I am excited to be back for my junior year and second year as an RA. I am from San Antonio but like to think of Austin as my home away from home. I am chemistry major so you will find me in the science building quite often. I love music of all different genres and am always open to hearing new things. I have been playing the guitar for the past ten years so you may hear me playing in my room. I adore reading and watching movies, especially on lazy Sundays. I am looking forward to our year together; I think it’s going to be a blast! If you ever need anything just come and knock on my door!
Marion Frizzell
Hi! My name is Marion Frizzell. I am a junior communication major who dreams of one day working in the PR, advertising, or marketing department of a Walt Disney Company. I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and am ridiculously proud of that fact. I moved to Houston in August of 1999 beating the Katrina rush by about 5 years. As mentioned above I love Disney and dream of one day working for that company. One of my other great loves is music. In particular I like pop, dance, and most especially 80’s hair metal. I love all things 80’s and I have been told that I was born 15 years too late. So I am your go-to-girl for anything the decade of decadence. I am a huge fan of books and reading. Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and the Twilight series are some of my favorite books. My favorite sports are football (GEAUX SAINTS!) and soccer. I am super excited to be living in East again this year. I know that we are going to be the best hall on campus and I am glad to be a part of that. My room is 101 so feel free to stop by and say HI!
Lauren Kelly
Hi my name is Lauren Kelly. I am a sophomore majoring in global studies and I look forward to this coming year in East Hall. My education is very important to me and I work really hard. Human rights and people also play a large role in motivating me and are a prime concern of mine. I plan to do some international travel and service when I graduate and return to the states after a couple years to get my law degree and work with immigration. I want to become fluent in Spanish and proficient in Chinese very badly; both are a work in progress. I danced most of my life. Though I have retired the hobby for the sake of others, I would like to go swing dancing for fun a couple times this semester. I play piano and this will be my first year in St. Ed's Jazz Band. Non-fiction books are my favorite; pretty much anything from biographies and memoirs to philosophy and linguistics fascinate me. I love good movies and music, but my likings range a broad spectrum. I am not a fan of anything very specific, although, I do have a soft spot in my heart for Don Henley. Oh, AND I'm a big fan of board games, so maybe we can make some game nights happen. I'm always available. If you guys ever need any sort of help just let me know and I'll make sure you get whatever you need. I'm also just a ready ear if you're ever looking for one. We're going have a great year in East! |
