| Jacques Dujarié Hall opened in August of 2005. Located east of Moreau Hall, Dujarié is a co-ed facility, offering 190 student rooms, including double rooms with single baths and suite-style rooms with students sharing a bathroom. This hall features distinctive amenities designed with input from students, including a computer lab, a community kitchen, on-site residence mailboxes, a recreation room, a meditation room, study lounges, card access, two laundry facilities, two elevators, free cable, local phone service, and Internet.
Father Dujarié, who was secretly ordained as a priest in 1795 during the French Revolution, founded two religious orders, the Sisters of Providence and the Brothers of St. Joseph. The order of brothers later merged into the Congregation of Holy Cross under the direction of Father Basil Moreau. To learn more about Father Dujarié (whose first name is sometimes translated into English as "James"), visit the web page of Brother George Klawitter, CSC, professor of English.

Hello! My name is Jonathan Foerster and I am the Hall Director for Dujarie Hall. I am very excited to be at St. Edward’s because it brings me back to my alma mater. Yes! I am a Hilltopper! I graduated from St. Edward’s in 2002 with my Bachelors in Spanish/International Business and just recently graduated from Texas State University with my Master’s in Counseling & Guidance – Student Affairs. I am originally from Austin and love the fact that I will be able to work and live in such a great city. When I am not doing my job as a Hall Director I love to read up on current events (mainly politics and foreign relations), watch movies (over 140 DVD’s in my collection!), play online games, watch sports (Football and College Basketball are the best) and hang out with friends. I look forward to meeting everyone in the Casas/Casitas and the St. Edward’s community. My door is always open so please stop by and chat or let me know how I can help you.
Tanya Noujaim
Well Hello Hello,
My name is Tanya Noujaim and I am finally a SENIOR! Yay for me I did it! Well I am originally from Sacramento, California, but now officially in love with Austin, Texas and want to call it my new home. I am a Public Relations major who hopes to pursue a career in either Sports Entertainment or maybe become a Wedding Planner. I am a first generations American coming from two parents who were born and raised in the land of the Great Pyramids. French was my first language, not Arabic don’t ask why. I love sports. I have an older brother who wishes to become an ESPN sports anchor so needless to say I got sucked into loving them. I am a former soccer and basketball player, but because of a knee injury I retired. I love to sing and dance and just be silly. I am a spiritual person and God has helped tremendously through my past 3 years and I know will be there to help me through this last one. Well, that’s me in a nutshell so ya peace out homies!
Andromeda Brown
Welcome to Jacques Dujarie’ Hall! My name is Andromeda Brown. I was born in California but was raised in Ohio. I am currently a junior. I am majoring in Communication, specializing in Media Broadcasting. I can truly say that I love the whole college experience offered here at St. Edwards. This will be my second year as a Resident Assistant at Dujarie Hall. I immensely enjoyed my first year as a Resident Assistant. This upcoming year under the supervision of Resident Director Sean Steele, I will be leading the Living and Learning Community in Dujarie' Hall. One of the major focuses of our discussions will be on current social justice issues and its effect on our world today. It is important to study these current issues and discuss them with our peers in an educational and relaxed atmosphere. I look forward to this upcoming year and meeting all the new residents! I have learned that getting involved on campus can be beneficial to a students future. Whether you participate in Hall Council, are members of a sports team, performing arts or are interested in campus employment, stay active at St. Ed’s! I encourage you to meet new people with various backgrounds who have exciting stories to tell. Again, welcome! College is a journey worth taking! Let’s make this year a productive one!
Leela Simmons
Leela Simmons
Hey! My name is Leela Simmons and I will be an RA next semester in Jacques Dujarie Hall on the third floor, west side (most more affectionately call it "the Duj"). :) I am a Psych major from Cypress, TX (north-west Houston) but have lived in Dujarie since my freshman year, when it opened. I started out on the same floor where I will be RAing, and moved to the casitas for the fall of my sophomore year. I worked the front desk all three semesters, but this will be my first year as an RA. The place is seriously like a second home to me.
Last semester I studied abroad in a small town called Alcala de Henarez, Spain, which is a 30 min train ride from Madrid. It was an absolutely amazing experience! While I was there I fell in love with traveling and was able to see many different parts of Spain, Italy, and got to go to Lyon, France to visit a friend, who was studying there. This hear I hope to decide on a specialty in Psychology, and start hunting for grad schools. After school I plan on doing some sort of mission work in Africa as well as teach English for a while in Peru, (where I have family) to better improve, and continue using my Spanish before starting my career. We shall see!
Though it is crazy to already to be back in the States, I am excited about starting my Junior year here at St. Ed's. I am sure it is going to be a great, but busy one. I would love to answer any questions you have about the residence hall or life here on campus ( lsimmon@stedwards.edu ). Otherwise feel free to drop by 339 anytime! God Bless!
Maggie Bradford
Hey! My name is Maggie Bradford and I am currently a sophomore. This is my first year as a Resident Assistant and I’m really excited! I absolutely love St. Ed’s and I know you will too. A little bit about me: I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. GO MAVS!!! I started playing the saxophone in the 6th grade and I continued through high school. I was in the marching band, the jazz band, and symphonic band. I was a member of many organizations, ranging from Mock Trial to Girl Scouts to National Honor Society. I was really active in high school and it has translated over to college. I was a member of Hall Council last year in East Hall serving as president. I really enjoyed it and it led me to become interested in Residence Life and here I am. I am majoring in Sociology and Criminology. I really want to get into law school and become a lawyer. I haven’t decided what field, but I know that it must deal with helping people, not just money. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, watching tv (I love Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Will and Grace, and various other shows), movies, and listening to music. But I also work at the campus bookstore, so I’m sure you will see me around. If you wave at me, I will wave back. I’m really excited about this upcoming year; it’s going to be pretty awesome!
Dago Garcia
Hi everyone! I’m Dago Garcia and I’m a Resident Assistant in Dujarie Hall for 2007-2008. I am from Houston, TX, where I graduated from Westside High School in 2004. I chose Saint Edward’s because of the fantastic learning environment and the great location. I feel at home at St. Edward’s and I only hope that I may assist my residents in developing a similar sentiment. I am a senior and am currently studying History and German. I am a very laid back person and consider myself to be incredibly approachable. I love music, reading, chatting about current affairs, sports, languages, learning about other cultures and, of course, hanging out.
I am involved in many clubs and programs here at SEU. I am currently in the SEU Jazz Band, “Steady”, which I, with the aid of many friends, helped create. I was also the president of the Chamber Music Club two years ago.
I am also in the McNair Scholars Program. Last summer I participated in a research program at the University of Notre Dame and studied the media’s affect on public opinion concerning affirmative action. This summer I am at the University of Chicago studying the Catholicism and the German Christian Labor Movement from 1906-1914.
I will be applying to graduate schools in the fall. Hopefully, by the end of the year I will be accepted to a PhD program somewhere. My goals as of now consist of writing and becoming a college professor. Anything after that is icing on the cake.
If you have any questions for me feel free to contact me via email at dgarcia7@stedwards.edu

Aside from sports I spent lots of time with my friends swimming, going to movies, playing paintball, etc. I look forward to being an RA again this year, and GO Astros!! |
