Research Interests
My research interests center around algae; their cellular
structure , physiology, life histories, distribution, and
role in the environment. These are beautiful organisms
and represent a wonderful tool with which to ask interesting
biological questions. I have recently become interested
in digital imaging, and again, the algae provide and interesting
subject for study. My work is mostly with freshwater algae,
but I also find certain marine forms very interesting as
well.
Teaching Interests
Courses that I regularly teach include General Biology,: Cells and Organ
Systems (Biol 1307 & 1107) and Microbiology (Biol 3439).The elective courses that
I teach are Biology of the Algae (Biol 3438) and Microtechinique (Biol 33440).
I like to involve students in research projects concerning identification,
and life histories, distribution and natural habitats of algae. |
