Research Opportunities
All the faculty are actively involved in research and
welcome the participation of students. Every spring, biology
students and faculty present their research findings at
the Texas Academy of Science annual meeting. Students can
design and conduct research projects in the areas of Molecular
Biology, Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Behavioral Biology,

Summer Research Fellowships
The Department of Biology awards a limited number of paid
research fellowships each summer to outstanding freshman
and/or sophomore biology majors who wish to participate
in collaborative research. If you are interested in applying,
