Student Organizations

Texas Academy of Science is a state-wide professional organization promoting excellence in scientific research and dissemination of scientific information. Students can gain membership, attend conferences, present research results, meet research scientists at other institutions, publish papers, and win scholarships. T.A.S at St. Edward's has an active social branch organizing picnics and camping trips every semester.

Women in Science is an organization within St. Edward's which supports undegraduates in the sciences by putting them in touch with mentors in the community. Undergraduates are paired with professionals in their field who nurture the students, and introduce them to potential employers in their field. W.I.S. members themselves mentor younger women in middle school by sponsoring and coordinating on-campus visits to encourage their continued interest in the sciences. W.I.S. also runs several fundraisers centered around holidays such as Halloween and Valentine's Day.
