Darwin Day

On February 12th 2009, in collaboration with The School of Humanities, Natural Sciences hosted a 200th birthday party for Charles Darwin. The day celebrated his life and times, his contributions to science, as well as the fundamentals and importance of evolutionary biology. There were fossils and animal specimens, evolution themed games, a carnivorous plant display, a Q&A booth, art exhibits, and thirty evolution posters that made the day a fun yet educational event. Over two hundred people attended, and dozens of student volunteers made the event a huge success. Media coverage included The Austin American Statesman, News 8 Austin, and our own Hilltop Views and Spectrum Newsletter.
