Title: Can a Wireless Signal be Disrupted by Common Objects?
Abstract: The purpose of this
project was to setup a wireless network and put objects in the
path of the signal to see if the signal can be disrupted. Each
object was placed at different distances to see how much they
affect the signal. The criteria for each test included the object,
its distance, and how many packets were sent and received. Other
variables were round trip and maximum timeout times. The tests
were 1024KB packets being sent across the network with a ping
command. Using the results from the test, I put the objects into
categories of severity. My study shows that any object that operates
in a 2.0 - 11.0 gigahertz range will disrupt the signal.
