Title: Jython/Java Application Development
Abstract: This project compared
the use of the Java and Jython programming languages. Specifically,
the application produced for this comparison was a lease management
application. It was designed to help track animal information
on large hunting leases where such information is vital to a healthy
habitat. The application must interface with a MySQL database.
It is often difficult to decide which language
one would choose to write any particular application in. This
project was designed to help provide useful information into both
of these programming languages. This project produced relevant
numbers that are useful in deciding whether to use Jython or Java
in future applications. The program was produced in both Java
and Jython to be identical. The two applications processing times
were then compared. The comparison provides useful information
behind both languages as well as their individual advantages. |
