Title: Robot Teamwork
Abstract: This talk describes experiments with
robots based on the Carnegie Mellon University Palm Pilot Robot
Kit (PPRK), which uses a tiny limited memory micro-controller.
The robots are programmed to respond with simple instinctive behaviors
that react to a limited set of stimuli. These instincts are layered
and prioritized as: survival, object recognition, wall following,
teamwork, hunting and capturing. An initial software and hardware
design was evaluated and a redesign implemented. The development
process and its suitability as an educational environment are
described. |
