Title: Constructing a Dynamic Home Decorating E-Commerce Solution
Abstract: Affordable Blinds and Home Interiors
sell window treatments (Blinds and Shades) plus home decor items
directly to consumers on the Internet. The price lists and home
decor item’s information was statically embedded in each
web page. Making changes to the information required web site
and HTML knowledge. A dynamic web site’s pages will automatically
be up to date if the information is changed in the database. The
solution was to use a scripting language and a relational database
management system to create dynamically updated user pages. Forms
that allow the client to administer the information on the site
were also implemented. The client can now add, change, or delete
the product and pricing information without the intervention of
a web programmer. The customer view of the pricing and products
are dynamically generated from the data in the database. This
presentation demonstrates the dynamic solution that was implemented
and the ease of use for the web based administration. |
