Interested in undergraduate mathematics research? Then St. Edward's is the place for you!

Every math major at St. Edward's takes the following course sequence: Research Methods, Undergraduate Research, and Senior Seminar. In Research Methods, students are introduced to the current mathematics literature and areas of open investigation. Students begin reading math articles from MAA journals. Together with a faculty member, a mathematics question based on such an article is selected by the student, who then investigates the question over two semesters in which s/he meets weekly with the faculty supervisor. In Senior Seminar, the student presents a 30 minute talk on the compilation of articles studied together with results and conjectures generated by the student's own investigation. Some students also elect to present their talks at student presentation sections at Mathematical Association of America meeetings.
