Jimmy T. Mills Endowed Scholarship
This merit-based scholarship shall be awarded to a second semester freshman majoring in math or science who has completed 12-15 hours of study with a GPA of 3.5. The scholarship is renewable each year based on satisfactory progress towards a degree (12+ hours per semester) while maintaining a 3.5 GPA. It is intended that the student will complete their degree within five (5) years. Consideration shall be given to students who have mitigating circumstances, which impact their eligibility. For example, if a student leaves the university he/she will have one semester grace period to return to St. Edward's without jeopardizing the scholarship award.  Preference will be given to economically disadvantaged and underrepresented groups in the sciences, including miniorities and women.  Recipients are also expected to make a contribution of their choice to the campus community through involvement in student organizations, leadership and other campus activities.
