Dr. John S. Trout, Jr. Scholarship
The Dr. John S. Trout, Jr. Scholarship Fund was established
in memory of Dr. John S. Trout, Jr., a distinguished faculty
member at St. Edwards University. Dr. John S. Trout,
Jr. Scholarships are awarded each year to one or two exceptionally
well qualified students in the School of Natural Sciences.
The achievements of these students are expected to exemplify
the high standards of scholarship and the personal integrity
that Dr. Trout demonstrated during his tenure at St. Edwards
University.

Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide recognition
and financial assistance to students enrolled or planning
to enroll in the School of Natural Sciences who have a
proven need for funds to meet their necessary college
expenses. First preference for this scholarship shall
go to a student who is beginning his or her studies at
St. Edwards University as a CAMP (or its successor)
student.
Robinson Scholarship
The Robinson Scholarship is intended to reward and encourage
outstanding St. Edwards University students who
will be attending medical school immediately after graduation.
Students may apply for this scholarship by contacting the Associate Dean of the School of Natural Sciences.
The Daniel Lynch Scholarship
The Daniel Lynch Scholarship recognizes outstanding premedical
and predental students who have distinguished themselves
in activities other than studies and have been admitted
to a medical or dental school. Students may apply for this scholarship by contacting the Associate Dean of the School of Natural Sciences.
2007 Monsignor William Broussard Health Career Scholarship Program
Offered by the Catholic Health Association of Texas: The Monsignor William Broussard Health Career Scholarship is available to Catholic students from Catholic Dioceses in the state of Texas who will be attending a University as a sophomore or above. This scholarship in the amount of $1,000 per year is available to students majoring in a concentration that will lead to a career in health care. Other scholarships in the amount of $500 will also be given. Students in disciplines such as nursing, occupational or physical therapy, social work, hospital administration, are examples of the types of students that may apply. However, students from a broad range of health care will be considered. The deadline for all applications is February 16, 2007. Jimmy T. Mills Endowed Scholarship
This merit-based scholarship shall be awarded to a second semester freshman majoring in math or science who has completed 12-15 hours of study with a GPA of 3.5. The scholarship is renewable each year based on satisfactory progress towards a degree (12+ hours per semester) while maintaining a 3.5 GPA. It is intended that the student will complete their degree within five (5) years. Consideration shall be given to students who have mitigating circumstances, which impact their eligibility. For example, if a student leaves the university he/she will have one semester grace period to return to St. Edward's without jeopardizing the scholarship award. Preference will be given to economically disadvantaged and underrepresented groups in the sciences, including miniorities and women. Recipients are also expected to make a contribution of their choice to the campus community through involvement in student organizations, leadership and other campus activities.
