Why participate in SOURCE?

The Symposium on Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression (SOURCE) offers students an opportunity to interact with faculty and peers in an environment evocative of professional conferences. By participating in SOURCE students have an opportunity to share in a formal manner their research and creative endeavors to an academic community.

The benefits for students are two-fold. First, students may share original research and artistic projects with a larger audience; such an experience (presenting at a symposium with selective criteria) merits mention on a resume or graduate school application. Second, students will have the experience of participating in a symposium that should facilitate communication skills and foster confidence through their engagement in professional activities. By participating in SOURCE, students may hone skills and develop poise useful for business meetings or other professional conferences.
