Tips for an Effective Presentation:

  1. Speak in a clearly understandable manner and natural tone of voice with sufficient volume to be heard from any location in the room.
  2. Show enthusiasm for your work.
  3. Dress professionally.
  4. Observe the specified time limits for your talk: 10-12 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions. Three presentations will be scheduled every hour.
  5. Audio-visuals are not required; however, all presentation rooms will be equipped with a PC-compatible computer with CD-ROM, LCD projector, remote controller, PowerPoint, and overhead projectors. If you are using your own laptop for your presentation, bring it to the Media Services Department ahead of time to make sure it will work with the projector. If you require additional support or help using the equipment in the presentation room, contact the Media Services Department in Ragsdale, Kevin Hennessy.
  6. Important: You MUST load your presentation onto the appropriate computer the evening BEFORE the conference. You will receive more information on this as the date approaches.
  7. If you use projection onto a screen, ensure that all text is large enough to be read from the rear of the room.
