News

Applications for Fall 2008/Spring 2009 New College Merit Scholarships are now available!

Scholarship consideration is limited to students currently enrolled in New College who have at least a 3.2 St. Edward's cumulative grade point average and who have earned a minimum of 12 St. Edward's University graded hours by the application deadline.

Applicants will be considered for a variety of scholarship funds, including endowed scholarships, gifts to the university, and Presidential Scholarships - a separate application is not necessary. Applicants who are selected by the committee will be awarded scholarships for the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters.

Complete application packets, including application form, essay and letter of recommendation must be submitted to the Office of Student Financial Services by April 1, 2008. Late applications will not be accepted. Please be considerate of the person writing your recommendation by submitting your request at least three weeks before the application deadline.

Applications are available in the Office of Student Financial Services in room 204 in Main Building or online at http://www.stedwards.edu/stufinan/current/cnscholar.htm.

A Caution about Dropping Classes:

If you're thinking about dropping a class, you can find the refund schedule here. However, if you have financial assistance, you need to contact our office before you drop, because it can have a significant impact on your eligibility.

Students who drop a class may have their assistance revised, which can result in the loss of grants and the return of loan funds to their lenders as well as the loss of future assistance. Students who completely withdraw will have a percentage of their aid returned to the original funding sources, leaving them owing a potentially large tuition balance. Plus, these students will lose future eligibility for assistance at St. Edward's.
