Elizabeth Morin-Duron
New College Academic Merit Scholarship
Major: Organizational Communication
Class: Senior
Hometown: Corpus Christi, Texas
Elizabeth Morin-Duron is president of the university’s
Alpha Sigma Lambda chapter, an honor society for adult students.
She coordinates volunteer projects for ASL and also volunteers
for Austin nonprofits including Meals on Wheels and the
Girl Scouts of America Lone Star Council. In addition to
completing the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation’s
Race for the Cure and the Danskin Women’s Triathlon,
she is homeroom mother for her daughter’s second-grade
class.

NEW
COLLEGE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
|
Scholarship consideration
is limited to students currently enrolled in New
College who have at least a 3.2 St. Edward’s
cumulative grade point average and who have earned
a minimum of 12 St. Edward’s University graded
hours by the application deadline. Applications will
be evaluated by a committee composed of New College
faculty. Applicants who are selected by the committee
will be awarded scholarships for the Spring
2010 semester.
The application and supporting materials
must be turned in to Student Financial Services
by 6 p.m. on November 9, 2009. Incomplete
applications will
not be considered. Recipients will be notified
by December 15, 2009.

ALPHA SIGMA LAMBDA HONOR SOCIETY
|
Alpha Sigma Lambda
Honor Society for adult students is offering a total
of $2,500 in academic achievement scholarships to
students 24 years of age or older
who had a minimum of 18
graded credit hours at St. Edward's University prior
to the Fall 2008 semester, along with a cumulative
GPA of at least 3.2. The amount of each award will
be
determined
by the scholarship committee, based on the number
and merit of the applicants. Both undergraduate and
graduate students are welcome to apply.
The application deadline for Spring 2009 consideration
has passed.

and is based largely upon income, family size, and
asset information. Consideration for this need-based
