As a member of Brazos -- a related group of not-for-profit organizations dedicated to helping students achieve their educational dreams -- AFC is proud to award $50,000 in scholarships to help students finance their first-year of college expenses. The sweepstakes will award two (2) $5,000 scholarships and sixteen (16) $2,500 scholarships to first-year students who will be enrolled in an accredited college or trade school for the fall 2007 semester.

Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society for adult students is academic achievement scholarships to students 24 years of age or older who have a minimum of 18 graded credit hours at St. Edward's University, with a GPA of at least 3.2.

The deadline for all scholarship applications is February 1 of each year. Applications must be in the office of the Foundation by 5:00 p.m. on February 1 each year. Applications will not be accepted after that date.

Available to students ranging from high school seniors to graduate students. Must be a resident of the 26 northernmost counties in the panhandle - those north of and including Briscoe, Castro, Hall, Childress, Parmer, and Swisher Counties, TX. Several scholarships are available for different areas of study. $1000 scholarship available for students who have demonstrated academic excellence and a potential to make a contribution to the field of business security. Students must have completed at least one year of study.

Texas Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA)

The Texas chapter awards up to two $1,000 scholarships each year to promising students pursuing journalism (print, TV, radio, or web) at an accredited college or university, including undergraduates, graduate students, and graduating high school seniors who will be college freshmen. The student must be an AAJA member, attending school in Texas, Oklahoma or New Mexico or from Texas, Oklahoma or New Mexico and attending school elsewhere,
and must display:
· Journalistic ability
· Commitment to the field of journalism
· Awareness of Asian-American issues
· Scholastic ability
Financial need will be considered, but is not
required.

Bureau of Land Management Award $1,000
Full-time undergraduate students at 4-year institutions with declared majors in natural resources – or their equivalent majors/curricula – degree program. Students must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and have an interest in natural resources management.

General Motors Engineering Excellence Award $2,000
Full-time undergraduate or graduate students at 4-year institutions with declared majors in an engineering degree program. Students must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2. Scholarship is renewable based on availability of funds and student's continuing eligibility.

Home Depot Scholarship Award $2,200
Full-time or part-time undergraduate students attending 2 or 4 year institutions. Student must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. All majors welcomed to apply.

Lockheed Martin Scholarship Award $2,800
Full-time undergraduate students at 4-year institutions with declared majors in electrical engineering, computer science and mechanical engineering . Student must be interested in Lockheed Martin employment opportunities and possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20.

NASCAR/Wendell Scott Award $1,500
Undergraduate or graduate students of any major who demonstrate either a recreational or professional interest in the motor sports industry . Undergraduate students must be full-time, able to use the scholarship during their junior or senior year, and possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Graduate students must be attending school at least on a part-time basis.

Office Depot Scholarship $1,000
Undergraduate students attending 4-year institutions with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in any the following majors: business administration, international business, marketing,merchandising, or information technology.

Time Warner Scholarship Award $2,000
Full-time undergraduate students at 4-year institutions who have completed at least 12 undergraduate units of any major with an interest in the entertainment, news, media or telecommunications industries. Students must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Scholars may be considered for paid summer internships at Time Warner through the Time Warner "STARS" program.

Wachovia Scholarship Award $1,000
Full-time undergraduate students attending 2 or 4 year institutions with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in any of the following majors: finance,accounting, or business administration.

Wal-Mart Achievers Award $1,000
Full-time undergraduate students attending 2- or 4year institutions in their sophomore or junior year at a U.S. mainland institution. Students must be declared majors in: business administration, general management, retail management, marketing, or food merchandising – or their equivalent majors/curricula – degree program. Students must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 , and preferably, be working while attending school and have an interest in retail.

Separate scholarships have different eligibility requirements. All require that the applicant be of Hispanic background, living in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, entering or continuing college as a full-time undergraduate, and have no lower than a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

High school students must plan to enroll full-time in a degree-seeking plan at a college and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Mensa Education and Research Foundation Local Scholarship Program

Contestants do NOT have to be members of Mensa. Entrants must reside in the Austin area including Austin, Waco, Bryan/College Station, Temple/Belton, Llano and Marble Falls. An essay up to 550 words describing career, vocational, or academic goals is required. The Foundation will award at least one scholarship of $300 in the local area, and qualified entries from the local area will compete for amounts up to $1000 regionally and nationally.
