National Italian American Foundation

Italian American students who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievements or students of any background studying Italian language, Italian studies or related field. Must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident Alien.

National Law Enforcement & Firefighters Children's Foundation (NLEAFCF)

Applicants must be a child of a law enforcement agent/officer or firefighter who lost his/her life in the line of duty. Awards are based on scholastic and other achievements. Candidates are not required to demonstrate financial need. Each candidate must be registered as a full time student during the entire academic year and maintain a 2.5 out of a 4.0 grade point average, or the equivalent.

The Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Austin has established a scholarship program to support the ideals of Phi Beta Kappa, “Love of wisdom, the guide of life.” Awards of $2,500 will be made in May 2009.

Applicants should demonstrate an excellent academic record and be seeking a first baccalaureate degree. The Association is committed to supporting those students who, along with demonstrating academic excellence, have a need for financial support.

Continuing students are eligible if they:
(1) have earned more than 30 credits
(2) are at least 24 years old
(3) are pursuing an academic program that includes liberal arts and sciences
(4) are enrolled at Concordia University, Huston-Tillotson College, St. Edward’s University, or the University of Texas at Austin

Students graduating in May 2009 are not eligible.

Time Warner Scholarship Award - $2000 (renewable)
Full-time undergraduate at 4-year institutions who have completed at least 12 undergraduate units of any major with an interest in the entertainment, news, media and telecommunications industries. Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0. Scholarship may be considered for paid summer internships at Time Warner through the Time Warner "STARS" program. Renewable based on continuing eligibility.

The Travis County Women Lawyers Association (TCWLA) Scholarship Fund, Inc., serves as an umbrella for scholarships that go to law students who may have had to struggle a little harder to get where they are. Annual adjusted gross family income of $35,000 or less, as documented on the current year's federal income-tax return on which the applicant is claimed as a federal tax exemption. U.S. citizen or eligible non citizen. Not currently in default on a federal education loan.

Full-time undergraduate sophomores or juniors. Students must be declared business administration, general management, retail management, marketing, of food merchandising majors. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Preference given to students working while attending school with an interest in retail.
