General Information and Frequently Asked Questions About the Brown Scholarship

What is the Brown Scholarship?

$2,000 to $10,000 Brown Scholarships are available for the 2010–2011 academic year. Award consideration is based upon past commitment to community service, academic excellence and a community service project proposal for one of the following periods of time:

  • Fall Semester
  • 2010 Spring Semester
  • 2011 2010-2011 Academic Year

The monetary amount of the Brown award granted is dependent upon the scope, depth and length of time of the Brown Scholar’s community service proposal.

Students who apply for the Brown Scholarship and do not receive it will automatically be considered for the Dean’s Scholarship or the Service Scholarship, depending upon their grade point average. Students may apply for either the Dean’s, Service or Brown Scholarship, but they may not apply for more than one.
