Student Life
Multiculturalism
Student Life reflects the St. Edward's and Holy Cross commitments to creating an inclusive environment that upholds the dignity of all people and examines, recognizes and values individual differences while simultaneously understanding the importance of our common humanity.
We support and educate our diverse student population through various initiatives, programs and events - which promote self-reflection, cultural awareness, understanding and dialogue. We strive to collaborate with various members of the university community to promote an environment in which different perspectives and experiences are explored, valued and shared. This empowers students to create positive social change on campus and in local and global communities.
Goals and Objectives:
- Offer support and resources to St. Edward's University students from minority populations
- Deliver advice, counsel and support while providing leadership to multicultural student groups on campus
- Coordinate and implement educational and social programs and events that give students the opportunity to explore diversity and multicultural issues
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of students from diverse backgrounds
- Collaborate with university offices on various initiatives that promote an inclusive community
- Provide support and leadership for a wide range of multicultural committees
