Angelo Steinhardt-Keely

Angelo Steinhardt-Keely approached college as a personal quest for truth and self-improvement. His time at St. Edward's has led him to try to create a more habitable world for all people.

While earning a BA in Religious Studies, Angelo completed minors in Philosophy and Music. He volunteered in orphanages in Honduras and India, and as a result of his experience in India, he received a Brown Scholarship to create ties between St. Edward's and the Holy Cross Abhayadhama Orphanage. He also completed a four-week internship in Paris, France, researching the past 30 years of political conflict between Israel, Palestine and Lebanon.

On campus, Angelo founded and served as president of both the Religious Studies Club and SEU Awareness, an interfaith spirituality group. In his capacity as leader of these organizations, he facilitated respectful discussions surrounding controversial topics. In the Austin community, he co-created and facilitated Potluck in the Park, a weekly potluck that fed the homeless.

One of Angelo's professors said, "He has the integrity to ask challenging, provocative questions and the maturity to know how to express himself so as to invite discussion rather than defensiveness."
