How to Complete Your Presidential Awards Application
Application Packet
All nominees are required to fill out the following sections of the Presidential Awards application:
- Acknowledgement of Presidential
Awards Application Guidelines
- Personal Information Form
- Essay
- Recommendation Forms
(First Section Only)
- Leadership Experience Form
- Community Service and Volunteer Activity Form (Compensated)

- Community Service and Volunteer Activity Form (Not Compensated)
- Jobs and Internships Form
- Honors and Awards Form
- Academic Information Release Form
- Judicial Record Authorization and Release Form
- Photo Release Form

What do Presidential Awards recipients receive?
Presidential Awards recipients receive:
- A glass-encased award containing a certificate signed by President George E. Martin
- Individual acknowledgement on Honor’s Night by President Martin, including comments on the recipient’s accomplishments
In addition, photos and descriptions of each recipient’s accomplishments hang in the Robert and Pearle Ragsdale Center and appear on the Student Life web pages for one year. Names are then added to the online listing of past recipients.
Deadline for Application
All materials must be received in the Student Life Office, Ragsdale 304, by Jan. 14, 2009 at 5 p.m. Any forms or essays received after the deadline will not be considered in determining award recipients. There are no exceptions to this policy.
