University Programming
Board
The University Programming Board, or UPB, is the major activities programming organization on campus, providing the university with a variety of social, educational, cultural and entertaining programs. Student staff members serve as event coordinators for five areas of programming: films, multicultural programs, music and dance, special events, and marketing.
Films: From action and drama to comedy, the list of films made available to the university community is endless. Join us for indoor and outdoor screenings on campus of the hottest blockbusters, educational films, documentaries and independent films.
Multicultural Programs: Travel round the globe simply by attending a multicultural program. Our coordinators plan cultural and educational events that encompass the diverse cultures within the St. Edward’s community and around the world. Expand your knowledge of different cultures through food, lectures, panel discussions and excursions. In addition, our multicultural programming encourages students to explore a variety of relevant topics and issues.
Music and Dance: This programming area pumps up the volume on campus. Whether it’s a concert, karaoke or dance lessons, these coordinators work to bring an array of musical and dance experiences to the St. Edward’s community.
Special Events: With the wide variety of entertainment provided by the special events coordinators — comedians, poets, game shows and cook-offs — there is bound to be something of interest for everyone. Special Events include anything from comedians and poets to game shows and cook-offs.
Marketing: Marketing works to promote and market each University Programming Board event and the UPB as a whole. These student staff members are in contact with UPB staff, and university faculty and staff, as well as other student organizations to ensure event attendance and keep the community aware of the efforts of the University Programming Board.
