Wellness

As a Holy Cross institution, St. Edward’s University views wellness as integral to the holistic development of our student body. The university is committed to empowering students to make informed, positive lifestyle choices, take responsibility for self care, and achieve optimal levels of wellness in order to reach their full potential.
The Office of Student Life provides wellness education by offering basic wellness workshops to individual students and student groups on campus. These fun, interactive workshops introduce students to the philosophy of wellness (PDF), provide information about the eight dimensional model of wellness (PDF) (adapted with permission from the Santa Clara University Wellness Center), and encourage students to make positive lifestyle changes.
The Office of Student Life also provides wellness information to students. Information is available on a wide variety of topics related to physical, social, emotional, spiritual, occupational, environmental, global and intellectual wellness. You can also find the following Wellness documents, as well as many more on Collegiate Link:
- How Much Exercise is Enough?
- Tips to Increase Emotional Wellness
- 5 Things Happy People Do
- Abdominal Breathing to Reduce Stress
- Signs of Good Environmental Wellness
- The Importance of Laughter
