As you prepare for your next steps, here is what you need to know.

There may be a lot of information to process in your transition from high school to college, so read the information on this page carefully.

Hillstart

  • Registering for an Orientation session
  • Exploring Freshman Seminar course options
  • Completing your housing and meal plan sign-up

Once you satisfy your enrollment deposit (which can take up to two business days), you will receive an invitation to Hillstart in your official St. Edward's University email account, not your personal email account. Click or tap on the link provided to take you directly to Hillstart to get started

Summer Orientation

Orientation at St. Edward's

June, July and Aug. sessions — During two days on campus, you’ll get a personal introduction to the people, places and culture of the hilltop. Make friends, meet academic counselors, current students, and faculty, check out your residence hall and register for the rest of your classes. Check out the schedule at–a–glance here.

Sign up for Orientation through Hillstart. Learn more about Orientation, including dates and what to bring.

Families are invited to attend Parent and Family Orientation which occurs at the same time as their student's Orientation session.

Anchors and Move-in

Medallion Ceremony at Anchors

Aug. 22-25, 2019 — Anchors is a mandatory extended Orientation for all incoming freshmen.

You’ll move into your residence hall and then take part in Anchors, a weekend full of activities that plugs you into campus life before classes even begin. You’ll meet upperclassmen leaders, bond with classmates, and learn about community traditions and expectations. Families are invited to some Anchors events (Block Party, Mass and BBQ) Aug. 22-23 and are asked to leave by 1 p.m. on Fri. Aug. 23.

Learn more about Anchors through Hillstart and at your summer Orientation session. The Anchors schedule will be available on the mobile app early August.

For information about moving in to your residence hall, contact reslife [at] stedwards.edu (subject: Question%20re%3A%20Move-in) (Residence Life).

Welcome Days

Hillfest

Aug. 22–Sept. 6 — During the first two weeks of classes, there are special events (including important campus traditions) around the hilltop to help you get involved. Be on the lookout for the Involvement Fair and Hillfest (our annual back-to-school party, NOT to be missed).

Our hope is that when you come to campus in August, you’ll see some familiar faces, take part in the Welcome Days events and adventures we’ve made for you, and feel ready to take on your first semester.
