It’s a hilltop tradition to welcome new students to the St. Edward’s community, and even amid a pandemic, that remains strong. Scroll through our photos and watch the video to be part of this year’s Move-in and Welcome Days.
Beginning August 17, new and returning students moved into residence halls and celebrated their arrival to the hilltop. Small, in-person social activities and games were planned for on-campus students, and remote students joined virtually.
The week’s activities culminated with the Medallion Ceremony and Legacy Walk. During the Medallion Ceremony, new students receive a medallion bearing the university seal, signaling the beginning of their academic journey.
At the Legacy Walk, new students walk through the university’s iconic red doors into the heart of campus, marking their entrance into the university community. When they graduate, they’ll exit the red doors, wearing their cap, gown and medallion, and join our vibrant alumni community.
It was fun-filled week of new experiences and new friendships! We’re proud of our students and the way they took care of each other by following our safety guidelines: back up, check up, mask up and wash up. Welcome home, Hilltoppers! We’re happy you’re here. Toppers Up!
