It’s the start of the semester: new classes, new roommates and (for some students) an entirely new school. In the middle of all this newness, one thing stays the same: Hilltopper Welcome Days, our annual back-to-school extravaganza.

For the first few weeks on campus, we celebrate with food, fun, games and a few more serious traditions to kick off the school year the right way. It begins with move-in weekend, full of events that include friends and family — and runs through Hillfest, arguably the most popular party all year long.

Watch a video recap of the events from previous years.

What can you expect from move-in weekend?

First Friday Welcome Block Party

Meet new students and families while enjoying a summer night of music and cool treats.

Welcome BBQ

Take a break from moving in and relax with family, friends and members of the university community while enjoying great Texas barbecue.

Stay Gold Saturday

Spend your first Saturday night making new Hilltopper friends at the Stay Gold Movie Night. What movie? It’s a surprise! Add stedwardsupb on Snapchat to get all the details.

Mass of Welcome

Celebrate the start of the academic year with this special Mass for the whole St. Edward’s community, including families, students, faculty and staff.

Medallion Ceremony and Legacy Walk

For students only. Incoming students are formally inducted into the academic community as they receive a St. Edward’s University medallion. After the ceremony, freshmen walk across the heart of campus and through the iconic red doors of Main Building, marking their entrance into the St. Edward’s University community.

First Day of Classes!

Hilltopper Welcome Days continue through Friday, Sept. 14, with social events, Hilltopper athletic competitions, Campus Recreation activities and information fairs — all designed to help your student get involved, connect with fellow Hilltoppers, prepare for classes and have a good time.
