Outdoor areas on campus are a great place to sit and enjoy the weather and beauty of the hilltop. As an on-going effort, Campuscape identifies different outdoor locations that would be ideal for added seating or updated seating. Some of the most recent improvements are shown below.
Benches at Sorin Oak
Sit in awe of the beautiful 250-300+ year old Sorin Oak, a live oak tree that is named in honor of the founder of St. Edward’s University, Edward Sorin. The benches circle around the tree, which has withstood tornado, fire and centuries of growth.
Campus-wide Chairs & Tables
Plentiful outdoor seating zones are framed by the natural beauty of the Hilltop grounds and the built environment that make up campus architecture. The consistency is deliberate, in an effort to offer comfortable and durable seating throughout campus.
