Career and Professional Development hosts a variety of recruiting events in both the fall and spring semesters. Each fair provides a better forum for students, alumni and employers to interact regarding opportunities offered.
Our office invites recruiters hiring for jobs and or internships as well as graduate schools seeking potential new students.

Part-Time Job Fair
The Part-Time Job Fair is a great chance for Hilltoppers interested in part-time employment (both on-campus and off-campus) and internship opportunities to interact with employers. The Part-Time Job Fair typically hosts approximately 30+ employers with part-time and internship openings. So get your resumes ready!
Breaking into the Health Professions Fair
Tuesday, January 28, 2020 | 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. | Mabee Ballrooms, 3rd floor of the Ragsdale Center
The Breaking into the Health Professions Fair is a collaborative event with the Pre-Health Professions Office as we welcome a variety of organizations that will talk about how to gain experience in the health professions, including service, research, and jobs.
Spring 2020 Accounting Job & Internship Fair
Thursday, February 6, 2019 | 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. | Mabee Ballrooms, 3rd floor of the Ragsdale Center
The Accounting Job and Internship Fair is for students interested in applying to accounting oriented jobs and internships with public accounting firms, government agencies and corporations. This fair is open to all students and alumni, particularly those with a focus on accounting.
Before the Accounting Job and Internship Fair:
- Get your resume read and be sure to include the following details:
- When you plan to sit for the CPA exam
- Which branch of accounting you may be interested in Tax or Audit
- Your cumulative GPA and expected graduation date
- A list of your completed accounting courses
- Read up on the companies attending
During the Accounting Job and Internship Fair:
- Dress professionally. Read some tips here.
- Introduce yourself to all the recruiters.
- Let them know you have done your research about them prior to the fair.
- Be sure to share your resume with them as well as receive any business cards they may provide.

The first ever Teacher Fair is an opportunity for employers to recruit students and alumni for professional internship and employment opportunities in the field of education. This fair is open to ALL MAJORS.

The Full-Time Job Fair is an opportunity for students and employers to network about full-time, professional employment. This fair is open to all students and alumni from all academic programs at St. Edward's University.

Update your resume as soon as possible. Career and Professional Development offers students many avenues for having your resume critiqued:
- Send us your resume for review to our Resume Drop-off service (email your resume to: seu.careerplan [at] stedwards.edu or drop it off at Moody Hall 134)
- Visit us during walk-in hours in Moody Hall 134 Mondays - Thursdays 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. or Fridays from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
- Schedule individual appointments in Career and Professional Development by calling 512-448-8530
- Stop by Moody Hall 134
Many sites are available for creating and ordering business cards. You can order 250 free business cards from Vista.com with basic information on your card. There will be a nominal shipping fee. As you are creating your card online, Vista will keep asking you if you want to upgrade (backgrounds, colors, fonts, etc.) at approximately $5-$10 for each upgrade. While you may certainly take advantage of the upgrades, you don't have to accept and you can order your cards for just a nominal shipping fee.
Students and alumni from other colleges and universities who would like to attend St. Edward’s University's fairs should email Career and Professional Development prior to the event to request and receive permission to attend. To request permission to attend, e-mail seucareer [at] stedwards.edu, state your request and indicate the college or university you are currently attending or have graduated from. If approved, you will receive an e-mail with additional information for participating.
