Kaitlyn Phillipson is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics.  She obtained her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, where her dissertation focused on computational algebraic geometry.  She has been involved with mentoring numerous undergraduate research projects through summer REU programs, including the PURE Math Program in Hilo, Hawaii.

Dr. Phillipson is involved with mathematical outreach programs, including visiting Math Teachers' Circles, developing discovery-based math activities for school-aged students, and organizing math festivals such as Pi Day celebrations and open houses.
