Dr. Alicea is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology in the School of Natural Sciences. 

Dr. Alicea has been teaching Kinesiology courses in higher education for over ten years and joined the St. Edward's University faculty in fall 2018. She teaches/has taught the following courses in the Kinesiology Department:

KINE 1311 - Introduction to Kinesiology & Sports Sciences
KINE 2344 - Concepts of Physical Fitness and Wellness
KINE 3332 - Social and Psychological Issues in Kinesiology & Sports
KINE 3346 - Measurement and Evaluation in Kinesiology in Sports
KINE 4340 - Coaching Theory and Practice
KINE 4342 - Facility Design & Facility/Event Management

In addition to her passion for teaching and supporting students’ learning and success, Dr. Alicea is also a Certified Mental Performance Consultant and enjoys working with athletes and exercisers to improve their mental skills to help accomplish their goals. Her main research interests involve exercise and psychological well-being and strategies to improve exercise adherence.
