Most New Orleanians name All on a Mardi Gras Day, directed by Royce Osborn, as the best documentary about how locals celebrate Carnival! To celebrate Mardi Gras 2012, Dr. Bonner will screen the film and lead a discussion on how carnival and parading traditions offer people the opportunity to both celebrate their cultural traditions and to express political protest. Dr. Bonner is a native New Orleanian whose neighborhood was destroyed in the Hurricane Katrina floods. All on a Mardi Gras Day was completed in 2004, the year before the floods took away so many of New Orleans' people and neighborhoods.
