Mühsam's work focuses on the changing and changed landscape, particularly the relationship between the natural and the human-built. Mühsam imagines the land after technology has rendered it nearly uninhabitable, despite its promises to create a better world. His compositions depict the absence of humans but not of humanity: man-made landscapes after the disappearance of the natural.
