St. Edward's writer-in-residence Carrie Fountain will release her new collection Instant Winner. Fountain's poems have appeared in The American Poetry Review, Poetry, and Tin House. Her first collection, Burn Lake, won the 2009 National Poetry Series Award and was published by Penguin in 2010.
The wry, supple poems in Instant Winner (Penguin Books) take the form of prayers and meditations chronicling the existential shifts brought on by parenthood, spiritual searching, and the profound, often beguiling experience of being a self, inside a body, with a soul.
Book sales, signing and a reception to follow.
