This hands-on workshop will address some of the challenges of serving students from increasingly diverse educational backgrounds and levels of English-language proficiency. The first part of the workshop will examine our syllabi and assignments for cultural assumptions that our non-US students may not understand. Please bring a syllabus or assignment to examine. Then we will troubleshoot and identify individuals and offices on campus who can work with students, both international and US, struggling in our courses. Presenters: Mity Myhr and Erin Ray, joined by Mary Culkin and Mike Merrill. Lunch served at 11:45, please RSVP below.
