St. Edwards welcomes Leila Levinson, author of the Gated Grief: The Daughter of a GI Concentration Camp Liberator Discovers a Legacy of Trauma, for a reading and talk on the book, which address the question, “Can veterans’ war trauma be passed onto their families?” The daughter of a Nazi concentration camp liberator and army surgeon, Levinson was a close observer of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Levinson taught a Holocaust literature course at St. Edward's University from 2002-2008. Her students helped her define the book's focus.
