Henry Mollicone, associate director of the Ernest Bloch Music Festival in Newport, Oregon, and director of its composers’ symposium, will discuss the ways in which music has been able to serve social justice causes in modern times. We look at examples of how powerful music, from both popular and classical traditions, has promoted just causes in many different areas.
Mollicone is a Woodrow Wilson Scholar, opera composer and conductor. Social Justice and Music: Music to Build Bridges in Society will be the topic of his public talk.
