The Nostra Aetate document initiated the beginning of a deep rapprochement in the relationship between Jews and Christians.  Pope Francis has struck a far different tone than his pre-Vatican II predecessors, declaring that "Dialogue and friendship with the children of Israel are part of the life of Jesus’ disciples."  This presentation by Dr. Philip Cunningham, Director of the Institute for Jewish-Catholic Relations at St. Joseph’s University, will explore the dramatic transformation that came about, survey the past five decades of interfaith interaction, and consider the future of the Jewish-Christian relationship.
