A spiritual upbringing is not always a nurturing experience for a child. Many children are abused and neglected by those who believe their actions are mandated by their faith. This symposium aims to help teach students and the community about the issue of religious child maltreatment. Experts in the fields of faith, journalism, child protection, and a survivor will explain how religious child maltreatment happens and what we can do to stop it.

Sponsored by Center for Ethics and Leadership, Center for Religion and Culture, and Health & Counseling Center.
