Monica Wood is the author of the new memoir "When We Were the Kennedys: A Memoir from Mexico, Maine", the novels "Any Bitter Thing" and "Secret Language." She won the 1999 Pushcart Prize and has been nominated for the National Magazine Award. Her short stories have appeared in numerous publications including "Redbook," "The Best American Mystery Stories," and "Sudden Fiction International." Originally from Mexico, Maine, Wood currently resides in Portland.
