Rebecca Davis

Director of Instructional and Emerging Technology

Expertise: Rebecca Davis, PhD, helps shape the university’s goals for the use of educational technology. She leads faculty members, librarians, technologists, academic support personnel and others to identify technological innovation that introduces new models of teaching on the Austin campus and enhances the university’s global initiatives. Davis was previously program officer for the humanities at the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education (NITLE), where she also served as associate director of NITLE Programs. 

  • PhD and MA in Classical Studies from the University of Pennsylvania
  • BA in Classical Studies and Russian from Vanderbilt University

She is co-editor, with Matt Gold, Kathy Harris and Jentery Sayers, of Digital Pedagogy: A Reader and Toolkit, a collaborative, born-digital project under development. The project explores how changes wrought by new digital methods on scholarship, networking and communication are impacting the classroom.
