2016-2017 Visiting Fulbright Scholar

The Kozmetsky Center is pleased to announce that Dr. Volodymyr Dubovyk of Odessa National University in Odessa Ukraine was awarded the Senior Fulbright Visiting Research and Faculty appointment for academic year 2016-2017 at St. Edward's University in Austin. Professor Dubovyk was introduced to the St. Edward’s community when he participated in the Kozmetsky Center forum on “International Policy and Academic Perspectives on the Impact of the Ukrainian Conflict” held in October 2014.

Dr. Dubovyk earned his Ph.D. in political science/international relations from Odessa State University (now ONU - Odessa National University) in 1996, where he currently serves as Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations and Director of the Center for International Studies.  Among his teaching and research interests are U.S. foreign policy, U.S.-Ukraine relations, theory of international relations, Black Sea regional security, international conflict studies, and foreign policy of Ukraine. 

Dr. Dubovyk spoke at St. Edward's University on September 12, 2016 on "Ukraine's Future Political and Economic Challenges: National & International Prospects" and is teaching a course at St. Edward's University during the spring 2017 semester on "Ukraine: Contemporary Issues and Challenges". He will be speaking at events organized by community partners GlobalAustin, World Affairs Council-Austin, and others while on appointment as a Fulbright Scholar in Austin.
