U.S. News & World Report today announced its 2018 rankings for best colleges and universities in the nation. For the 15th consecutive year, St. Edward’s is recognized as one of America’s Best Colleges. Positioned at No. 15 in a list of regionally ranked universities, St. Edward’s is one of only four Texas universities to be listed in the top 20 of Western Regional Rankings.
With a steadily improving overall score of 68, St. Edward’s also received the following distinctions:
The Foreign Student Factor – Our commitment to global perspective is recognized among a list of schools with high proportions of international undergraduate students.
A+ School for B Students – Universities on this list are recognized for looking beyond test scores to attract a diverse and engaged student body.
Best Colleges for Veterans – St. Edward’s continues being recognized among schools that help make college more affordable for Veterans.
The U.S. News Best Regional Universities list includes institutions that offer a full range of undergraduate programs as well as select master’s programs. The formula used by U.S. News & World Report to rank schools includes:
- Peer assessment
- Freshman retention rate
- Graduation rate
- Percentage of classes under 20 and over 50 students
- Student-faculty ratio
- SAT scores for incoming freshmen
- Percentage of freshmen who are in the top 25% of their high school class
- The university’s overall acceptance rate
- Average alumni giving rate
