The Recognized Organizations Council (ROC) helps support our student organizations. We can connect you with current student groups that fit your interests, or we can help you start a new one!
You can contact the ROC Office at 512-448-8421 or seuorgs [at] stedwards.edu. You can also visit our office; we are on the third floor of Ragsdale Center in the Student Life office. See the profiles below to learn more about each ROC representative and how they can help your organization be successful.
Shar's duties as executive director include supporting the various ROC coordinators. She is a general expert on all student organization policies and procedures. If she can't answer your questions, she can at least direct you to the person who can.
As the creation support coordinator, Samantha Hair can help you start a new organization on campus. The only requirements to become an organization are three students and an advisor. Whether you are brainstorming an idea for an organization or have a specific purpose in mind, he can walk you through the process to become a recognized organization on campus.
Amber McIntire keeps up with the information for all of our student organizations. If your organization email isn't working, or no one ever passed along the login information, she can help. If you missed OrgCon and your organization is not currently compliant with the state-mandated risk management requirements, she can help set up a time to get your members trained. If you need to apply for storage space for your organization, she is the person to contact.
Grace Kerstetter manages the ROC newsletter and social media accounts. Do you have an upcoming event or opportunity you want to share with campus? Send her the information, and she'll share it through our social media and even contact appropriate departments that might be good supporters.
Breuna Westry and Jessica Arrazoloare our event coordinators. They put on the fall and spring Involvement Fairs (and prep parties), and plan the Leadership Learning Project in each spring. If you are interested in learning more about these events, they can provide it.
Luxy Banner keeps track of the important, impactful work done by student organizations and records their contributions to our campus and larger communities. The ROC uses this information to vote on Org of the Month, which comes with a $50 contribution in funding for the winning org. He's also the contact for Excellence Awards.
John Griffin views all funding requests for the ROC. He makes sure that all information is complete before the ROC votes. He'll help you spend the money the ROC provides.
