Raising Awareness

"Every moment is an organizing opportunity, every person a potential activist, every minute a chance to change the world." — Dolores Huerta

Throughout the year, we plan creative programs that both raise awareness about the issues our communities face, and celebrate our communities' accomplishments and traditions.

Bringing Communities Together

Whether you are seeking a community of like-minded people or are just looking for a familiar face, part of our mission is to help bring communities together.

You can help plan and participate in our annual events such as:

  • Hispanic Student Summit
  • Soul Food: A Black Student Welcome
  • International Women's Day
  • Lavender Graduation
  • Dinner with Six Strangers
  • Coming Out Day

Cultural Celebrations

We aim to not only bring awareness to social issues and fight for justice, but we also honor our rich cultural traditions through programs such as:

  • Lunar New Year
  • Cesar Chavez Week
  • El Dia de los Muertos
  • Yom Kippur
  • Eid Al-Fitr

Educating for Social Justice

The Change Institute enables students to create and sustain diversity at St. Edward's University and beyond. The goal of the conference is to create cross-cultural dialogues that help students understand the complexities of living within diverse communities.

The conference is one step of many that St. Edward's University students engage in to become members of flourishing diverse communities where individuals respect diverse opinions and cultures.
