"Every moment is an organizing opportunity, every person a potential activist, every minute a chance to change the world." — Dolores Huerta
Throughout the year, we plan and support creative opportunities that both raise awareness about the issues our communities face and celebrate our communities’ accomplishments and traditions. For the complete calendar of events happening at St. Edward's, please visit our university calendar, where you can sort on the right side by clicking Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Bringing Communities Together
Whether you are seeking a community of like-minded people or are just looking for a familiar face, part of our mission is to help bring communities together.
To do this, the office hosts a number of signature events throughout the year. These events include, but are not limited to:
- Queer Student Welcome
- National Coming Out Day & Coming Out On the Seal
- Common Theme Programming
In addition, the office partners with its identity and affinity organizations to host events for heritage months including:
- Black History Month
- Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month
- Asian Heritage Month
We also also works with organizations to collaborate on signature events such as:
- Power to the People: Advocacy Workshop
- History of Resistance
- Pride Week
- Take Back the Night
- First Generation Scholars Week
These events are made possible because of you! There are endless opportunities to get involved. If you want to plan, lead, or participate in any of the events above, reach out!
